The International Museum of Women (IMOW) was founded in Palo Alto, CA.
Formerly the Women's Heritage Museum, the museum has a ten year history of
public programs and exhibits in the San Francisco Bay area.  It is now in the
early planning phases to open a major facility in San Francisco.

IMOW seeks to educate people about women's experiences, contributions and
evolution throughout the world.  The mission of the museum is to inspire
positive societal change through the critical exploration of women's history,
contemporary issues and visions of the future.
