The NC Museum of Art's handling of the discovery of a Nazi looted painting
in their collection.  John Coffey was the point person on that issue.

As part of a background paper for a meeting centered on art museums, I am
looking at the challenges facing art museums, especially the social
pressures.  Do you have ideas, references, EXAMPLES, etc. to answer a
question such as:

--What are the most successful strategies in art museums for handling
controversial exhibitions and censorship issues? [CAN ANYONE NAME MUSEUMS,
ESPEC. ART MUSEUMS, THAT HAVE AVOIDED PROBLEMS IN SPECIFIC WAYS]
