Well, that parallels my thought. That particular
photograph reflected a moment in time. It was taken
by a photographer (I think I saw that there happened
to be some sort of conference in NY at the time which
is why there were so many photos and that many of them
were taken from a distance because they couldn't get
close) on one day of the recovery. That doesn't mean
that other people of varying hues didn't also raise
the flag (either before or since). It just means that
one photographer captured that image.

Being deeply invested in diversity, I'm sensing
something here (maybe because I'm sensitive to it),
but it feels as those who are taking most exception to
this are caucasian (as am I).

However, are there minorities within the group who
have thoughts about the substitutions in the images?
I'm wondering what their thoughts are and hoping they
feel safe enough in this environment given the strong
sentiments heretofore expressed to add their thoughts.

Without inviting flames, it feels a little like this
is a backlash to affirmative action. I could be--and
may well be--wrong, but that's what I'm sensing from
the passion in some of the posts.

(Oh, am I going to get it now, LOL.)
