 Does anyone have experience with
>bonuses(cash and non-cash rewards)?

We get a small cash gift (a "Christmas" bonus, if you will) annually, which
is taxable. Everyone gets the same amount.

What kinds of bonuses do you receive
>(if any)and/or what kinds of bonuses would you like to receive?

Actually, the kind of bonus we get frequently and which is most appreciated
is paid days off for jobs well done. For example, the whole staff assisted
in preparing a grant request for $1.25 million, and when we got it we all
got a paid day off as thanks. (there are only some 22 of us counting
part-time staff) We also get "stress days" (not counted towards our
vacation or personal days) when our Executive Director notices that we need
them. In recognition of our personal value structures, we also get a
"floating holiday" that we can use at our discretion to celebrate a
religious holiday that we don't normally get off, or our birthday, or
something like that. We get 10 days paid vacation (15 days after 5 years)
and about five paid holidays not counting the floating holiday, plus three
personal days, so the extra time off when we need it most (and as a
surprise) is very very nice.

At one point the Personnel Committee toyed with the idea of making part of
any salary increase contingent upon "performance," (i.e. related to
increases in the institutional budget that we helped bring about) but there
was a problem of how to measure it if the position was not directly
responsible for bringing in funds (and it not being favorable to areas that
by their nature spend money rather than make it), so it was dropped.

Hope this helps.
