Years ago, while I still worked at the Art Institute of Chicago and my son was about 5, he wanted to come and see "where Daddy worked".  My wife was out of town on business and I was a bit concerned about managing his desire to want to touch the artwork..

I simply dressed him a sweatshirt and sweatpants with no pockets, and gave him two action figure toys, one for each hand.  He walked through the entire place and never touched a thing.
