Assistant Manager for Business Development, Website

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Assistant Manager for Business Development for the website.  This position will have an important role in the development and execution of online marketing programs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The manager will report to the Senior Manager for Business Development, Website.  Responsibilities include maximizing revenues from the e-newsletter and e-renewal marketing programs to current customers and the acquisition of new online registrants and e-subscribers. Management of the email program includes maintaining production schedules, working closely with internal departments on content, and setting up, testing, and deploying the campaigns using a web-based application. This position will also participate in other marketing initiatives: manage online seasonal promotions; ownership of special projects; increase natural search engine optimization efforts; and coordinate online surveys. Will analyze website visitor and email marketing statistics to identify trends and generate monthly reports. Opportunity to be involved with the implementation of an ad serving technology and web-based application that will deliver internal/Museum online advertising and dynamic optimization of ad inventory on the metmuseum.org site.

Successful candidates will have a background in marketing, with experience in email marketing preferred.  Must have proficiency in Excel with strong analytical skills to test, measure, and communicate the impact of marketing programs.  Must have ability to understand databases and desire to learn technical programs. Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills as well as exceptional work ethic and enthusiasm required.  Knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, Firefox, and Photoshop required.  Bachelors degree required with an art history background preferred.
