Thank you for responding to my request about museum ethnography--I only
wish I had tried this sooner. Unfortunately, my project of the moment must
be "finished" soon, but I hope to continue my research, maybe make a senior
thesis out of it. I would NOT suggest doing a museum ethnography if you
have other obligations in life!

Responses were from:
[log in to unmask] is working with a sociologist, Jeffrey Halley, to conduct
this sort of study. There are evidently journal articles available through
the ASA and at jstor.org.

Nora Jones ([log in to unmask]) is working on her dissertation on
this in visual anthropology at Temple University.

Kersti Krug recently (1999) published a dissertation in multimedia CD-ROM
format studying the community of an anthropology museum at the University
of British Columbia. Full information on this can be found at
www.iisgp.ubc.ca/community/kersti.htm; she is now teaching MA students in
curatorial studies and working at that museum.

Raymond Fogelson, an anthropologist specializing in tourism, teaches a
course in Museum Anthropology at UChicago.

Since you people are so helpful, does anyone know the location of the
following (the servers/weblinks I've found are dead)?
ANTHRO-L
VISANTH
Southeastern Museums Conference

Thank you,
Kathy Mancuso
