It really comes down to how much interesting information you have, how it is
presented, and how detailed the exhibit is...how quickly the viewer can
absorb it. I was really struck by the audio tour of Alcatraz in San
Francisco. It is somewhat different from a Museum exhibit, obviously, but it
so powerful and very well done. One of the most wonderful parts of it, was
the interplay between narration and actual voices of those who had been in or
served on Alcatraz. The narration varied from about 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
But so much of it was really interesting that you were willing to stay and
listen. You might examine ways to vary the narration, by including other
voices, music, sound effects, etc., to enhance the drama of the experience
while conveying the information. It also depends on the amount of
concentration the exhibit requires. I don't know if this is any help. Maggie
