Hi all

Yes, there are several. I am one of those on mcg, the mailing list
for the Museum Computer Group. It is a Mailbase mailing list, based at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/ There are several others which are also
hosted at mailbase, two of which are GEM (for museum education) and
SCRAN, which covers the activities of the Scottish Cultural Resource
Access Network.

There does not seem to be any direct analogue to museum-l, as anyone
in the UK who is interested can subscribe to it. If I am wrong about
this I would like to be corrected.

There is also a relatively new newsgroup, news:uk.culture.museums.
It is not a very heavily used group, as it has not been around for
very long. It is useful as an announcement forum and for those from
outside the museum world who would otherwise not be aware of the various
mailing lists.

I hope this helps, Michael
