Associate Director of Development
(full-time, exempt position)


The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum, Chicago, IL, is currently
accepting applications for the position of Associate Director of
Development.  This position reports to the Vice President for Advancement.

The Associate Director of Development will be responsible for developing an
annual giving fundraising plan for members and donors, cultivation
activities for potential donors, and  systems for tracing and researching
individual prospects and donors.  In addition, the person in this position
will work closely with the Membership Manager to identify outright and
planned gift prospects.  This position is also the liaison to the Adler
Council and its Executive Committee.  The person in this position must be
well organized, have the ability to solicit donations, and must have
excellent planning skills and creative ideas.

The qualifications for this position are  a BA degree, 3 - 5 years
experience, and an annual giving/membership background.  An MA degree  and
campaign experience are preferred.

The beginning salary for this position is $36,624.
