Hmmm... I would argue that access to these images has
greater priority in most cases than the reputation of
the institution.

When it comes to names and dates - information about
the content of an image - the researcher may sometimes
have more accurate information than the institution
that owns the image.

It may be wise, however, to build something into a
policy that images are not to be used in a publication
with defamatory or racist goals. Does anybody out
there have a policy that does something like that?
