I just read the post from Tess ([log in to unmask]) about what are the
chances of getting work in a museum without a Masters degree.  I do computer
consulting to work my way through college.  I have almost finished my
B.S. in Computer Information Systems with emphasis on Systems Analysis, along
with minors in Anthropology and English (linguistics emphasis).  I know I
could "sell out" to corporate America for the big bucks, but I would rather
make the "little" bucks doing something I enjoy.  I, too, have an interest
in Native Americans.  Please post responses to Tess' question to the list as
I am sure others are wondering, too.  Or, at least, forward a copy of your
reply to Tess to me, too.

PS:  i find it interesting that I can be a successful consultant, but I can't
get a job.  It seems that when I am a consultant, the only thing companies
care about is if I can "deliver the goods."  When I apply for a job, all
companies want to know is if I has a BS degree; competence seems to play no
role in the hiring decision.  Any views on this?
