Are there any museums out there that have purchased a townhouse and renovated it for their needs? We're thinking about expanding, and I have no experience in this area. I would greatly appreciate any advice/help/insights that listers could give me about this subject. For example, were there structural changes that had to be made to the building? How did you find the property? Was it already commercially zoned? How long did the entire process (from purchasing to opening) take? How did you establish a budget for the renovations? Can you recommend any architects that are familiar with museum needs? Did you do a feasibility study before you started looking for new property?

Feel free to email me off-list ([log in to unmask]).

Thanks in advance for your help!
Tracy
