The Adler Planetarium is seeking an Associate Director for Floor Programs to lead the development, scheduling, implementation and evaluation of floor programs for the general museum and school groups
using instructional design.  This position reports to the Director of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-	plan and coordinate Far Out Friday and AstroOvernight Programs
-	develop and supervise floor programs and other informal education events
-	manage and schedule implementation of floor and theater programs
-	lead evaluation of floor programs
-	manage three full-time informal education staff
-	develop and implement training programs for volunteers, museum services and store staff on presentation skills, telescope use, and floor activities
-	develop and teach courses to members and the public
-	responsible for teen intern program, works a Tuesday-Saturday Schedule
-	write grants and provide accountability for grants

Education and Experience Required:

-	M.A. in Museum Studies or Education 
-	instructional design experience      
-	experience in science education 
-	competency in assessment and evaluation
-	two years experience in an informal educational setting
-	telescope experience is preferred

The person in this position must have strong performance and customer service skills and the ability to work as a member of a team; must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS software.
