George,

I for one fully agree with you (and I'm not going to quote you at all).  I
suspect that most of us on this list would agree with you as well, but I hope
there won't be 1000 responses just like mine.  My concern is purely for ease
of reading--I don't worry about "bandwidth".  It's very hard on the eyes and
nerves to have to scroll through lengthy quotations to try to find out where
the quotation ends and new material begins.

I would further request that quotations be separated adequately from new
messages to make them easier to find, by using blank spaces as needed.  I'm
on another list in which various argumentative members like to intersperse
lengthy new comments and rejoinders within lengthy quotations, often with
very little separation, which makes for very tedious reading.  I'm grateful
that most Museum-L folks have refrained from that technique.
