how about this article about making an 1851 camera? sure looks great

http://alaskaninteriorbuilders.com/2012/11/30/making-a-turn-of-the-century-16x20-collodion-camera/

You might be able to make the shell
and

an old Brownie camera might be easy to "convert" -- use the shell and
insert small digital camera???

Best wishes, Barbara, retired librarian

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Turn of the century camera?

Hello!

Has anyone out there transformed a large format camera from the turn of
the century into a contemporary digital camera, so that "historical"
pictures can be take of visitors either in contemporary clothing or
period appropriate clothing?

Looking to add an interactive element to our living history program.

Thanks for any comments you may have!
