Association of Midwest Museums (AMM)
2005 Conference Call for Proposals
Deadline: Monday, January 31, 2005

During the 19th century, Cincinnati was referred to as the "Athens of the
West" because of its reputation as a center for culture and arts. Today,
Cincinnati retains its distinct beauty and reputation and boasts some of
the most outstanding museums in the country. You’ll have an opportunity
to visit some of these jewels of the Midwest at the AMM annual conference
in beautiful Cincinnati.

This year’s AMM conference, Museums and Success, is scheduled for October
26-28 at the beautiful, historic Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel. In
addition to outstanding speakers and sessions, the conference will provide
attendees with an opportunity to visit the wonderful museums in
Cincinnati, including the Center for Contemporary Art, the Cincinnati
Museum Center (which houses the Cincinnati History Museum, the Cinergy
Children’s Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science, the Robert D.
Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater, and the Cincinnati Historical Society
Library), the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, the National
Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Taft Museum of Art, and the
Cincinnati Art Museum.

The 2005 AMM Conference, Museums and Success, will explore the many facets
of museum operations, and how museums are incorporating new initiatives
and building upon success as well as measuring outcomes. We invite
proposals that examine different points of view, involve innovative
thinking, and provide new approaches to problem-solving. You can download
a proposal form from the AMM web site at <www.midwestmuseums.org>. For
additional information, contact the AMM office at
