Although I've been involved in the museum collection care of cameras over the
years, I confess I'm not sure how to answer the question.  Cameras may be
composed of combinations of wood, leather, glass, cloth fabrics, and metal
(and sometimes plastics), and they basically require the care appropriate for
those materials.  Common problems include the deterioration of the bellows of
folding cameras, which can stick or split if left tightly compacted for long
periods.  Shutters should not be stored in a cocked position, weakening the
springs, etc.  Beyond those caveats, protection from dust and other basic
steps are desirable.  If you have more specific questions, feel free to
