I am interested in finding out what the average Museum Educator's salary or
hourly wage is in the New England area. I am actually a California
elementary school teacher who has a passion for living history, and my dream
is to relocate to the New England area and work as a museum teacher. I have
volunteered at two local museums in my area as well as at local living
history events. I have sent letters and resumes to numerous states as well
as throughout California, but New England is my goal. I was surprised to
find out from many of my favorite museums that the museum educator salaries
were three times lower than my teaching salary.( I have only been teaching
for five years.) I would appreciate anyone's insight into this matter.
Thank you.
