I was going to suggest your local Girl Scout Council, too. I'm not sure if
it's a nationwide program (I'm a new GS Leader), but here in Alaska, we
have a series of "Women of Science and Technology" days in Anchorage,
Kenai, and the Mat-Su (coming soon to the Copper River Valley!). Another
suggestion would be to look for your nearest (if you're near one)
Challenger Center. Ours is on the Kenai, and they offer a lot of programs
and information.

Good luck!
Amy.

Girls push boundaries, test limits, and look at the world around them with
inquisitive eyes. They're natural scientists! Girl Scouts introduces girls
of every age to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
activities that are relevant to everyday life. Whether they're discovering
how a car's engine runs, becoming math whizzes, or learning about careers
in STEM fields, girls are moving forward into the future. They can host
science fairs, design Web sites, plan for space exploration, visit
geological sites, and more..."

your local Council would have information too, but the national office
might have an exhibit you want
the local council might "staff it".

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] travelling exhibitions about girls in science?

Hello All!
Has anyone seen or heard of any good travelling exhibitions about women and
girls in science? We are looking for a small-ish exhibition, ideally in
the 1000-2000 square feet range, durable yet interactive and fun, and
appealing on some level for elementary through high school students. Tall
order, isn't it?

We are a collaborative venture between a children's library and a
children's theatre - so any connection to stories, in content or means of
interpretation, would be ideal.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
