Genesee Country Village & Museum

The Genesee Country Village & Museum (Mumford, New York) seeks a dynamic 
innovative curator to work with one of North America’s largest 
collections of sporting and wildlife art, covering four centuries and 
including works by internationally known artists and sculptors.

This experienced museum professional will use strong interpersonal, 
project management, and team-working skills in designing and budgeting 
work plans, training staff, and overseeing all aspects of collections 
management, including computerization of paper records via Past Perfect.

S/he will develop exhibitions drawn from the permanent collection, 
coordinate exhibitions from external venues, assist in grant writing and 
supervise a seasonal gallery manager/art educator. As an important 
member of the Programs and Collections staff, the curator will also be 
central to the conceptualization and implementation of plans to more 
effectively integrate the gallery with the institution’s recreated 
historic village and nature center.

The position is permanent, full-time and available immediately. The 
salary is commensurate with experience, and the benefits package is 
excellent.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in art history, museum studies or other 
relevant field. Three years’ curatorial experience plus strong writing 
and oral communication skills required.
