The state of Missouri has a law making it illegal to leave a child under the age of 10. Therefore, technically, a parent could not drop off a younger child at a mall, museum, park, etc., without prior arrangement for supervision. Run into a store and leave them in the car, that sort of thing...

If Texas has a similar law, that could also make a difference in the policy that you develop.

Subject: Children without adults in museums

Esteemed Museum Colleagues,

Do you have written policies governing whether children are allowed to enter your facility without adults? What ages are governed? Please share policies if you have them or share thoughts if you don't. Thanks in advance! (I don't mean planned programs like museum schools or summer camps--I mean general admission).
