The Ventura County Museum of History & Art seeks a dynamic, hands-on
curator to be responsible for planning, installation and maintenance of
its temporary and long-term exhibitions. These include four or more
changing exhibitions per year, the George Stuart Historical Figures, a
long-term regional history exhibit, and a planned farm implement museum
offsite. The curator will work with other museum staff to write
interpretive materials and press releases, prepare funding requests,
plan receptions and public programs, train volunteers and assist in
general operation of the museum. The successful candidate should have a
degree in history, art or related fields, with work experience in a
museum or gallery setting. Salary is competitive, with health benefits
and paid vacation. For consideration, please submit a resume, writing
samples or other supportive materials, and a list of three references to
Tim Schiffer, Executive Director, Ventura County Museum of History &

12, 1999. The Ventura County Museum of History & Art is an equal
opportunity employer. For more information, visit our website at
