The Curator's Office at the Historical Society of Washington, DC is seeking
interns for the summer to work on revamping the interpretation of the Heurich
House, a Victorian mansion located in Dupont Circle that belonged to the
Heurich family (of beer brewing fame), catalog the furniture and art
collections of the Society, and to assist in the development of travelling
exhibits from our past exhibits. All internships are unpaid, unfortunately,
but I can guarantee that you won't be chained to the xerox machine, you will
have many opportunities to be creative, and you'll get plenty of hands-on
experience. Each internship will be unique to the needs/skills of the
applicant, incorporating the requirements of the Historical Society.

For more information, please send me a resume by email or by snail mail, with
a letter outlining what you want out of an internship, what you consider your
strengths (and weaknesses, if you like), and your availability. I would prefer
graduate students with either previous museum experience or some classwork (or
both), but don't let this deter you from applying if you really want to spend
your summer with us!
