Professionals involved in facilities management, property management, A/E,
large general contractors, telecommunications managers, safety and health
managers and general managers of service providers to people with the
above responsibilities might be interested in two delegations being
planned for 1996.

The first approved Facilities Management delegation is scheduled to visit
New Zealand and Australia in late August 1996. Details follow.

The second delegation in the planning stage is scheduled for China and
Hong Kong in early 1996.

Both trips will be about two weeks long leaving from the west coast of
the U.S. (San Francisco?). Cost has not been determined but will be in
the $5,000 range.

Those interested in the delegations can return e-mail.

NEW ZEALAND and AUSTRALIA Delegation:

People To People International, a U.S. not-for-profit, has approved the
mission and goals for a facilities management delegation to New Zealand
and Australia in August/Sept. 1996.

Mr. Gerald M. Hubbard, CFM, IFMA Fellow, is the delegation leader. Mr.
Hubbard is Director of Facilities for the Museum of Science and Industry
in Chicago. He lead a delegation of facilities and real estate managers
to China in 1988 and 1994.

The trip is planned to tie into the Facility Management Association of
Australia's annual facilities management conference held in Sydney on
Sept. 4-6, 1996.

Travel to New Zealand and around Sydney will occur before and/or after
the conference.

Objective:

To establish an ongoing communication process between real estate,
facilities and property management professionals, to develop a basic
understanding of interests and concerns about real estate, facilities and
property management, safety, health and security, to develop personal
relationships, and to explore areas of mutual interest relating to
facilities management.

The delegation will spend 1/3 of the time in meeting peers and presenting
papers, 1/3 of the time visiting facilities and 1/3 of the time on
cultural events and visits.

The cost of the delegation has yet to be determined. The delegation to
China in 1994 cost $5000 leaving from San Francisco, CA.

For additional information contact this e-mail or call Mr. Hubbard at
312-684-1414, x 2606, at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago.
