HEAD OF EDUCATION
Program Development Specialist - Education Division
The Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, The University of Oklahoma, is seeking a creative and highly trained educator to serve as Head of Education.  The Head of Education will lead a team responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for a new, state-of-the-art facility.  Specific areas of responsibility include:  strategic long-range planning; developing policies and procedures for educational programs; exhibit interpretation and interpreter training; on-site school and community programs; teacher training materials and programs; discovery room; on-site programs for children and adults; outreach programs, and educational components of the museum web page.  Additional responsibilities include developing grant proposals, preparing and administering budgets, and assisting with special events and promotional activities.  The Head of Education must be a skilled communicator, team leader, and team player and is expected to establish a close working relationship with the museumıs exhibits, curatorial, collections, development and security staff.  The Head of Education will supervise permanent and temporary staff, students, and volunteers and will report to the Head of Public Programs.

Requirements:  Education:  Masterıs degree required, Ph.D. preferred, with emphasis in earth, life or social sciences, education, museum studies or related discipline.  Training/Experience:  Minimum of 36 months (with supervisory experience) in a museum, zoo, science center, environmental education center, or similar institution.

HEAD OF EXHIBITS
Program Development Specialist - Exhibits Design
The Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, The University of Oklahoma, is seeking a creative and highly skilled design professional to serve as Head of Exhibits.  The Head of Exhibits will take charge of a team responsible for completing 45,000 square feet of exhibits for the museumıs new, state-of-the-art facility and expanding an established regional traveling exhibits program.  Specific areas of responsibility include:  managing all phases of exhibit development from conceptual design through construction documentation and installation; long-range strategic planning for exhibits; developing policies and procedures for an expanding exhibits program; oversight of contracted design and fabrication; and preparation of exhibits budgets.  The Head of Exhibits should have considerable experience with design and production of diorama and other three-dimensional exhibit environments and visitor-tested interactives.  The Head of Exhibits is expected to establish a close working relationship with the museumıs educational, curatorial, collections, and development staff and should be committed to a team-oriented, visitor-sensitive approach to exhibit development.  The Head of Exhibits will supervise permanent and temporary staff, students, and volunteers, and will report to the Head of Public Programs.

Requirements:  Education:  Masterıs degree required in relevant field of design.  A bachelorıs degree plus 48 months experience is an equivalent combination.  Training/Experience:  Minimum of 36 months (with supervisory experience) in a museum, zoo, science center, environmental education center, or similar institution; Macintosh-based CAD and graphics program experience.
