I didn't see the article, but I have noticed signage requesting cells be turned off and specific cell phone areas (I'm not exactly sure where, but I think this is true of the Getty and MOCA in LA) and I was at the Nat'l Gallery in DC where someone was severly reprimanded for making a call and then blabbing away on her cell in the very crowded trompe l'oeil exhibit. (perhaps if speaking volume on the phone were as low as "museum voice" there wouldn't be such a problem with it)

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/nyregion/AP-Cell-Ban.html

Does this apply to all NYC museums?
...Children's museums?
...Science museums?

Do any other cities have such restrictions?

Just curious...
