As curator of a collection which is full of "difficult" objects, I am
never quite sure as to the legality of granting reproduction rights.
Specifically, we have a collection of over 45,000 photographs, the
majority of which are by unknown photographers working for unknown
studios and depicting nude models, undoubtedly without releases from them.
 
Does anyone have a citation for a source on copyrights which might deal
with issues of nude models, anonymous photographers, etc.?
