Dear Colleagues,

Successful community collaborations begin with planning that includes
identifying not only community needs, but also the right potential
partners! You must find people and institutions who have similar
missions and resources that complement your own.

If you want to hear from experienced local practitioners who delivered
powerful outcomes in their communities because they clearly identified a
need AND the critical partners who could execute their projects, please
join us for the next Partnership for a Nation of Learners Interactive
Session entitled "Gather the Talent," on Thursday, March 9, 2006, from
2:00-3:30 PM ET.

Our guest speakers will be Mark Sachs, public broadcasting veteran and
teaming expert; Anne Henderson, Director of Education, Frist Center for
the Visual Arts; and Elyse Adler, Research & Special Projects
Administrator, Nashville Public Library.

This will be a national audioconference with a PowerPoint presentation
running locally on each participant's computer. Registration is required
by Wednesday, March 8 at 5 PM ET. Please go to
http://www.partnershipforlearners.org/otheropp.php to register.

There are two more professional development events this spring:

April 12, 2006 2:00-3:30 PM, ET
PNL Interactive Session Four "Designing for Impact"

May 11, 2006 2:00-3:30 PM, ET
PNL Interactive Session Five "Managing for Success"

And, mark your calendars for the second Partnership for Community
Collaboration Videoconference, on June 19, 2006, from 1:00-3:00 pm ET.
Our first conference was a hit, with nearly 2000 participants at 72
locations across the country. If you were a participant, don't miss this
chance to follow up with your "dates" or, if you didn't participate in
the first conference, join in the fun! More details to follow.

Sincerely,

Alison White (CPB) and Abby Swetz (IMLS)
