While suppurting the 'get going, farther than wait for someone else to stat
it' mentalitly, I would add that continuing to see ICOM Youth as a
potential ICOM committee is important. Partly because  setting up an
organigation isn't easy, and costs money (this is, if your organization is
going to have a bank account - being an informal association of friends is
very easy!). Partly because being an ICOM committee gets you lots of
publicity.

You should consider whether ICOM Youth should be like other specialist
committees, or whether membership should be, like National Committee
membership, additional.

I was an ICOM board member while still in my 20s, and don't think I was
particularly unusual - the problem I had was that, unlike more senior board
members, I didn't have an institution willing to bankroll me.  Howerever,
by combining conferences with annual holidays, I managed to get to most.

I guess there may be people out there confused by the word ,committee' -
ICOM use it to mean a large group of members: the people who run a
committee are called 'the board'.
