Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois, seeks a Coordinator, Teacher, School and Youth Education, to work as part of the Education Division's Center for Teaching and Learning to design, teach and evaluate interdisciplinary educational programs in plant science and ecology for  Pre-K-12 teachers, school children and youth both at the Garden and satellite locations.  Duties include developing, promoting, and conducting teacher workshops and summer institutes for in-service and pre-service teachers in the Chicago area; assisting with the development, evaluation, and teaching of children's and student programs;  and participation with CTL staff in the planning and implementation of special events and programs.

MS or MA in Education, Museum Education, Environmental Education, Botany, or Biology, with at least 1 year of experience in a museum, outdoor education, or classroom setting with an emphasis on science.  A BS or BA degree and more extensive job-based experience may also be considered.  Familiarity with inquiry-based and object-based teaching is desired.  Valid driver's license and ability to travel to off-site meetings and sessions required.  Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
