I realize that it would be better not to argue about this, but I feel a need
to defend myself just a little. Perhaps the tone of my response to Chris
came across as "talking down", and I've apologized for it separately. But I
have to say, perhaps in a sense repeating what I wrote to Chris, that I fail
to see how an attempt to clarify my opinions constitutes "superimposing"
myself and my opinions on others. That's an overreaction, IMHO.

I certainly don't want my posts to be regarded as "oppressive" or bordering
on "boorishness." Incidentally, these are accusations which I personally
would not make to anyone on the list, even if I thought them privately. Talk
about lightening up!

But I'll take back my overly forceful response to Chris, and regret my
crankiness. This is what I should have said:

Chris, I didn't say I objected to credit lines at all. I think all
contributors to an exhibit should get credits. I argued in favor of them in
a previous thread, and restated this opinion in the recent post. What I said
was that I think corporate logos look too much like advertising, so I prefer
plain-text credits.

David Mea Culpa Haberstich, trying to be a dear :-)
