There's a report in today's UK press that the statue of one of Bristol's
(England) major 17th cent. benefactors, Colson, has been just vandalised
with grafitti becuse he made his fortune out of the Atlantic slave trade.
There are also some community leaders and at least one city councillor
calling for the statue's removal as inappropriate to a multi-racial city.
