Curator of Collections
Genesee Country Village & Museum
Mumford, New York

Genesee Country Village & Museum seeks an experienced curator to 
research, interpret and manage its 15,000-item collection of 18th- and 
19th-century furniture; decorative arts objects; household accessories; 
vehicles; and objects relating to 19th-century American trades, crafts 
and agriculture.

This experienced museum professional will oversee all aspects of 
collections management, design and budget work plans, and help train 
museum staff and volunteers. S/he will be part of teams that develop 
in-house exhibitions and coordinate traveling exhibitions. As a key 
member of the Programs and Collections staff, the curator will be 
central to the conceptualization and implementation of plans integrate 
the museum’s historic village, art gallery and nature center.

The position is permanent, full-time and available 1 July 2005. Salary 
commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in history, museum studies, material 
culture or other relevant field; 3 years’ curatorial experience; strong 
writing and oral communication skills.
