The United States National Museum (USNM) is the former name for the
National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), a Smithsonian Museum. The
acronym, USNM, is still used as the standard code in refering to cataloged
objects/specimens at the NMNH. Many researchers still refer to the NMNN
as the USNM.
Now to address the question... the NMNH has a large staff, close to
500 people, so let me know if you need to contact a specific person
or department and I'll send that info to you, otherwise someone in
the Director's Office can help you at:
phone: (202) 357-2664
fax: (202) 357-4779
address: Director's Office, MRC 106
National Museum of Natural History
10th & Constitution, NW
Washington, DC 20560
Good luck!
