Thanks for this citation. I guess that Stolow's _Conservation
and Exhibitions_ is (besides being out-of-print) a little
stale. I would argue that a fundamental question is whether you
wish to require conditions at the borrowing institution(s) at least
as good as those in your own facility. This is a matter of choice, of
course. And of course, what _those_ should be is currently an unsettled
matter. Lambertus van Zelst's recent posting in CoOL,
announcing the forthcoming three-day international symposium at
the Smithsonian on museum environment next Fall, is a clue that
the April 2-day BMFI/NEDCC symposium failed to produce the
"standards" everyone so fervently desires.
