I had a business trip on the train to San Diego and
was responding via cell phone. As such, I didn't get
a chance to open multiple browsers and pull links.

The ADA - we didn't discuss it, but it applies to some
medical absences and can be absence on an intermittent
basis. http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/

According to our HR rep, in California, it's possible
that several of these laws could be applied, and they
don't have to be concurrent. One clock could run,
then another, and possibly a third.

Above all else, it's best to consult with an HR
specialist in YOUR state and/or region. Laws vary.

You may find the Findlaw resource to be of value.

law--both US and multinational--weekly.
