Thanks to those of you who responded to my request for sources of
information about exhibitions in development.  My conclusion is that, while
there are many sources of information about shows that are prepared and
ready to book tour dates, there really isn't a central place for museums to
put the word out about shows that are in the very preliminary, even
tentative, planning stages.  Someone suggested that it might be worth asking
AAM to host such a forum on its website.  What do you listers think?  Would
it be useful to know what other institutions are considering doing, either
to avoid duplication of effort or to have a chance to express early interest
in hosting an exhibition or (for the organizer) to learn about loans that
might be available?
