Amy-
Although I do not have a museum job right now I am
also always on the lookout for exciting art events
that cater to my age group (mid 20s)
In Louisville, a group of artists from the University
of Louisville started "underground" art parties. One
of the artists owns warehouse space where he lives and
works. On the weekends those that are interested are
invited to the parties to view his work and the works
of his fellow artists. While this sounds like a
typical gallery opening it is not. The atmosphere is
more relaxed and it feels more like a party. Many
people in their 20s feel uncomfortable in a typical
gallery setting. This is a way for these artists to
showcase their work and have a good time.
I hope this helps.
