You mentioned the British Columbia Archives in your posting; have you
    tried contacting the Royal British Columbia Museum (RBCM) or the
    Maritime Museum of British Columbia (both of which are located in
    Victoria, B.C., along with the provincial archives).  I know they both
    have some pieces of scrimshaw, and I'm sure the RBCM has other pieces
    you'd be interested in.  The RBCM is in the same complex as the
    archives, at;

    The Maritime Museum is at;
