A small medical museum in Alexandria, VA seeks a part-time (20 hours/week) collections manager for its diverse collections.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in museum studies or related field preferred.  Previous experience with diverse museum collections.  Experience with cataloging and electronic databases.  Ability to work independently and complete work successfully with minimal supervision.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Background in history or science of medicine a plus.

Key Responsibilities
·   Manage museum collection.

Specific Duties
·   Oversee the cataloging of museum materials.
·   Ensure proper housing of items in museum collection.
·   Serve as staff and public contact answering research
        questions.
·   Assist in the development of strategies for increasing
        public access to collections.
·   Solicit donations.
·   Assist in the development of exhibits and monitor the
        storage areas.
