Position: Museum Educator: 

Description: The Colorado Springs Museum (CSPM) seeks an enthusiastic, creative and energetic individual to oversee the Museum’s educational programming and events planning. The CSPM hosts over 50,000 visitors annually through a wide variety of lectures, tours, events and special programs. This is a key staff position responsible for creating, prioritizing and implementing public engagement activities. The museum educator is also responsible for volunteer management, community outreach to schools and other collaborative efforts, and facility rental. The position is also responsible for some administrative duties. Currently two part-time individuals report to this position. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an educational and/or museum setting, a demonstrated ability to assist and inspire volunteers, and a love for history. We seek someone that is comfortable with technology including the Microsoft Office suite of software, databases, PowerPoint and other graphic design tools, and social media applications. S/he must be able to manage multiple projects at one time, be self directed, and think creatively.  This is an outstanding opportunity at a fast-paced, AAM-accredited institution. This is a forty hour/week position that is scheduled for Tuesday – Saturday. Some evening hours are also required. At the current time this is an hourly position and no benefits are available.
