I guess I could have been a little clearer on my request. I am a newly
appointed board member of Museums Alberta and we are reviewing at our
policys and mandate. We need to be able to identify who we are serving as an
association.

I do a twenty minute slide show for local service groups and classes on this
subject, mostly to dissuade them from the common image that museums are
(history) dusty places full of duplicative items which belonged to old dead
white guys, or (art) snobbish places where you have to be quiet.

Perhaps we ought to ask Mr. Hunter (the original poster) to tell us who
asked him to define "museum" and to what end - it would make the discussion
more useful to him if we knew the context.
