Hi Sarah,
We're the developers of eHive, so I wanted to follow up with some additional information after the couple of mentions of our system in this thread.

It's free for the first 5,000 text records and beyond that there is an annual subscription based on image storage.

eHive is the foundation of a project in New Zealand to provide a national website for all museums in the country. All 400 museums have an account in eHive and this provides the data that runs the http://www.nzmuseums.co.nz website.

It's also used by museums in Australia, UK and US. Examples include:

Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame: http://ehive.com/account/3492
East Hendred Museum (UK): http://ehive.com/account/3426
Museum of the Macabre (USA): http://ehive.com/account/3471
South Georgia Museum (South Atlantic): http://ehive.com/account/3408

We're about to release a set of Wordpress plugins that allows sites to embed collection search and explore pages within a Wordpress site. The Textile Conservation Centre in the UK is the first to use these plugins. Their micro-site about concealed garments is built using the eHive Wordpress plugins: http://www.concealedgarments.org

You can read about eHive here: http://ehive.com/what-is-ehive

Best wishes,
Paul Rowe
