Please post for any members interested in taking the New York State
Civil Service exams for our historic site positions. The exams will be
given in March. Anyone wishing more information
should go to the civil service website listed below and type "historic
site" in the search box - this will take them to the information on all
the exams in this series. 

People can check out the NYS Parks website
(http://www.nysparks.state.ny.us ) to learn more about our historic
sites.

The New York State Department of Civil Service has announced the dates
for examinations for several titles associated with the state's historic
sites system, 
a program of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic
Preservation. Written tests will be held on March 10, 2007 for the
following positions:

Historic Site Manager A, B and C with starting salaries ranging
from 
$45,113 to $58,406

Interpretive Programs Assistant with a starting salary of
$42,693 

Historic Site Assistant with a starting salary of $32,138

Detailed examination announcements and on-line application forms are
available at Civil Service's website www.cs.state.ny.us/exams.

Applications must be postmarked by February 5, 2007.
