The International Year of Older Persons 1999 could be a very useful
focus for events and exhibitions at museums and galleries worldwide. In
the UK a team at Age Concern has produced some excellent material which
could be a starting point. I don't know if other countries are producing
similar. Maybe other list members will know.

I sent off for an Action Pack which cost 5 UK pounds. It contains a 66
page A4 booklet with Ideas For Action, a Photocopy Kit, Poster,
postcards, and materials order form. They also produce smaller booklets
which are Ideas Sheets for specialist audiences - these include ones for
Libraries, Museums & Galleries, Women's Organisations, Organisations
Working With Volunteers, Environmental Organisations, Health Promotion
Units, Leisure Centres. These are free for up to 5 copies and bulk
copies are 2.50 UK pounds per 25. I think this is all very good value
and extremely useful. I guess it's only available in the UK but I
haven't checked.

Hope this is of interest, especially to museum and gallery people in the
UK.

Best wishes,
