Off the top of my head:

Movies:
>From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler - The Met(juvenile)
(don't know date, 1970's maybe?)

The Mummy and The Mummy Returns - The British Museum (in the last few
years with Brandon Fraser)

What was the one about the scary monster/specimen thing that came out at
a museum exhibit opening and started eating people? It came out about 4
years ago. I think it was set at AMNH.

Also, don't some of the Indiana Jones movies have some museum scenes?

Books:
>From the Mixed up Files...(see above) E.L. Konigsburg (sp?)
There is a Tony Hillerman mystery set at NMNH.
There is also a Margaret Truman mystery set at NMNH.

Subject: Re: novels and films set in museums

I'm teaching an "Introduction to Museum Studies" course next year. I
plan to
examine popular images of museums by having students read novels and/or
watch
films that are about, or set in, museums. Any suggested titles?

Thanks!
