I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and comments.

Now to be more specific in my use of the artifact replicas....

Fifth grade students will use the artifacts (Egyptian) to determine the life and technological development of the culture represented. Because students will be handling the items, I need the replicas to be durable, inexpensive, and moderate in size.

My greatest challenge has been finding replicas with ancient writing (i.e. hieroglyphics) that also have the message decoded. I believe my best alternative is to create the replicas. Thanks again for your help!
