Hi Tracy,

You may want to contact some local graphics shops to see if they would be
willing to make some graphics panels or lettering and donate them to your
historical society as a gift in kind.

A cheap way to have large photos made is through some of the places that
will blow up photos into posters. Some of them give prety good quality
especialy with old black and white photos. Check with any place that
develops photos.

For display panels, a cheap way to go is to use hollow core doors that you
can get in a variety of sizes at most building supply stores. The doors can
be painted, or fabric covered, and hindged or screwed together in a variety
of angles to give free standing displays. The hollow core doors that are
hindged together are lightweight and can be transported easily in a van or
pickup. You can also sometimes find used hollow core doors at garage sales.
If you cover them with a nice linen fabric, put a small latice strip of wood
on the edges, they look great. They can also be attached to existing walls
or pedestals to give a variety of arrangements.

I hope this helps.

Subject: affordable exhibit options for small historical society
