Membership Sales Associate: Position Open Until Filled

A private, non-profit institution, The Children's Museum, Seattle (TCM) is
the region’s preeminent early childhood development organization for
children birth – 10 years.  TCM is a fun, safe and engaging environment
where children are encouraged to prod, poke and play in a child-sized world,
free to explore the world around them at their own pace and in their own
way, with hands on and minds open.  Located on the first floor of the
Seattle Center’s Center House, the Museum serves nearly 200,000 visitors
annually.  This administrative position is a WEEKEND DAY, PART-TIME position.

Position:
The Membership Sales Associate operates the Membership Services desk on
WEEKENDS, provides service and information to museum visitors, sells and
processes memberships and assists with retail merchandise sales.

Qualifications:
-Experience handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced public setting
-Experience providing customer service with a consistently pleasant and  
 professional demeanor
-Experience in cash handling, operating a cash register and till 
 reconciliation
-Excellent skill in sharing and maintaining organized work space and work 
 systems
-Motivated to cooperate and work in a team-oriented environment while 
 maintaining focus on job responsibilities
-Familiarity with or ability to learn PC based computer programs 
-Experience and desire to work with children and families
-High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

Responsibilities:
-Operate the Membership Services Desk during WEEKENDS, providing visitors 
 with reliable service and information, making retail transactions and 
 processing memberships
-Provide new Members with their membership cards and related materials at 
 the time of purchase 
-Monitor entry of  Membership Services Desk patrons into Exhibit Center
-Enter member data with precision and maintain accurate member information 
 in database
-Maintain a positive, customer-comes-first attitude in interactions with 
 visitors as well as colleagues
-Attend All-staff meetings as scheduled

Evaluation Policy:
Performance appraisal given annually at the one year anniversary of the hire
date. Three month review at discretion of supervisor.

Hourly, Non-Exempt, DOE
